Event description

Join us for a Walk and Talk through the land, having a forage for local edible weeds, wild foods and plants. Discussing and exploring edible and medicinal uses both internally and externally among various plants native and non native growing in the area.
🌿
We will be collecting a basket or two of wild weeds to bring back and learn to make an all-heal bush balm for external use on the skin and body.
Learning how to identify plant species and knowing their properties helps to not only become more aware and able in nature, but be able to heal wounds, cure health issues, make ointments, feed ourselves and build stronger confidence along with right relationship to the land of natural resources.

What's included:
Walk and Talk on local plant knowledge and uses
Your own take home skin salve made on the day
A print out notes of plant uses we touch on through the day
Wild Weeds brewed Tea

Winter is an abundant season for edible European plants most commonly disregarded as useless 'weeds' growing all through our backyards, roadsides, paddocks and public parks.
This is a chance to rewire our relationship to wild growing plants, their individual benefits within the local ecosystem along with their healing and nutritional properties available so close to our doorsteps.
Eating wild foods does a world of good for us, on a psychological and biological level of connection to place, absorbing bio-diverse trace minerals and rewilding our thriving human nature.

Bring cold weather gear as we'll be both walking and setup outside at bushcamp.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land wurundjeri on which our workshop takes place. May we continue to give back with presence and reciprocity.

With warmth from winters hearth, Sal
