Event description

“Carey found her true calling in music…smart tales of love, life, and longing.” - Chicago Sun-Times

“Edie Carey’s [The Veil] is a direct hit to the solar plexus…jaw-dropping lyricism…” – The Independent

Colorado-based singer-songwriter Edie Carey is known for her unmistakable, soulful voice, her intelligent, heart-grabbing songs, but perhaps most especially for her warm, engaging presence on - and off - stage. As much a part of her show as the music itself, Edie's wry humor makes audiences feel as though they have just spent an evening with a very close friend.

Edie Carey has been performing since 1999, singing alongside Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlile and appearing on PRI’s syndicated Mountain Stage as well as Cayamo, Telluride Bluegrass, and Newport Folk Festivals. Her lullabies project with Sarah Sample won Best Children’s Album in the 2015 Independent Music Awards, and she was a featured vocalist along with Lisa Loeb on the 2020 Grammy-Winning ensemble “All the Ladies.” Americana Highways called her 2022 release The Veil “one of the best of the year” and Basic Folk listed it as #4 on their “Top 10 of 2022 So Far” alongside Grammy-nominees Anais Mitchell and Aoife O’Donovan. More info at ediecarey.com

Emma Atkinson is a 15 year old Taos singer songwriter. She will be a sophomore at Taos High School and spends her free time reading, playing soccer, loving on her 2 dogs and writing new music. She also performed as a feature for WildFlower Playhouse production of "Strings". She has used these amazing opportunities to perform her own originals such as “Blue Abyss”, “Free Falling” “I remember”, and “Sometimes I wish.” Emma is talented beyond her years and brings to the Wildflower stage original works.
