Class Description:

Learn some basic techniques to enhance your images in this two week course. This class will teach you to critically look at your image and make decisions on how or if it needs editing. This is not a class about the best filters, but how to analyze your image and make informed decisions on how you might to enhance the image. You will come to class with a few of your favorite images each week and we will work on how to approach editing an image using a variety of techniques. These edits will all be done on your smartphone, with free software.

About the Artist: Laura Wessell

I am a local portrait photographer. I studied business at UNC Chapel Hill and studied photography at Randolph Community College. My photography career started when film was the medium we captured our memories on. I have watched the evolution of digital photograph and the amazing technology that most of us now carry in our pocket. More images are created today than ever before, but I would challenge that there aren't better images being created. I created a curriculum to teach students to take better images using their phones, by understanding the limitations and strengths of those devices, while incorporating the principals of art.
