Educating Rita
Event description
Following the success of Gangsters Galore, we are delighted to welcome back director and producer David Berker for another unforgettable production, Educating Rita.
A timeless, uproariously funny romantic comedy and sharp satire, Educating Rita explores the themes of freedom, change and self-development, through the compelling relationship between the brash but charming Rita and the weary and disillusioned Dr Frank Bryant.
This community-led production stars David Scholes and Sharon Porter, both semi-professional actors and Centre volunteers, under the expert guidance of retired profession director, David Berker. Behind the scenes we have one of our incredible volunteers, Sam from Imagine by Samantha, generously creating our stage sets and costumes. As always, our community spirit shines through, with The Bake Club serving drinks at every show.
So come along and enjoy a wonderful evening of theatre, all made possible by the passionate volunteers of the Bulimba Community Centre. All funds raised go directly to the Centre to support programs such as the Young Entrepreneurs Bootcamp (YEB), The Village Playgroup and The Bake Club and Community Garden Projects.
