Edward Neeman "Heroic" Recital
Event description
What a way to finish our Courtroom Chamber Music Series! Australian-American pianist Edward Neeman has performed to acclaim across five continents, won prizes in international piano competitions, and appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras of note worldwide. You can scarcely turn on ABC Classic FM without hearing him at some stage, either playing solo or joining other artists.
He has appeared in many concert houses around the world, including the Gunning Courtroom and Gunning Shire Hall. Edward, with his wife and duo partner in the Neeman Piano Duo, Stephanie, is a good and popular friend to Gunning. Both have played here to the delight of locals—but never on our new Kawai GX2 grand piano.
We look forward with keen anticipation to Edward’s debut performance on Gunning’s new concert piano. His “Heroic”-themed recital will feature:
- Beethoven’s “Eroica” Variations
- Chopin’s “Heroic” Polonaise
- Liszt’s transcription of Tannhauser by Richard Wagner
- A special guest appearance by Stephanie
You can bet on it being an afternoon to remember.
The historic village of Gunning has three good pre-concert dining options and plenty to see and do. Read all about our attractions and amenities here.
