Edwina Shaw is a Queensland author, editor, and creative writing teacher with an extraordinary body of work spanning fiction, memoir, screenwriting, and short stories. She is the author of Dear Madman, Thrill Seekers, A Guide Through Grief, In the Dark of Night, and more, with her work appearing in literary journals and anthologies including Best Australian Stories.

Dear Madman is a gripping and deeply personal story that begins with a shocking crime in 1911, when Edwina’s great-grandfather unknowingly employed a dangerous man whose actions would devastate a family forever. What began as a childhood family story became a search for truth — uncovering a haunting legacy of grief, family myth, and intergenerational trauma.
