eFAST (Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) ultrasound is a rapid, bedside ultrasound protocol used in emergency and trauma care to quickly detect life-threatening internal bleeding (hemoperitoneum, hemothorax), pericardial fluid, and lung collapse (pneumothorax) in patients who have sustained blunt or penetrating torso trauma.
Point-of-care Ultrasound (POCUS) for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm can be performed at the bedside and has excellent sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysm
This workshop will introduce you to the use of ultrasound for eFAST and AAA scanning.
