Effective Fundraising for a VCSE Organisation

This training is funded by Staffordshire County Council. To access this course you must be a Staffordshire resident (not including Stoke on Trent) aged 19+.
Are you interested in maximising fundraising opportunities for your community organisation? Are you new to grant writing and fundraising, or are you experienced and looking for refresher? Would you like to benefit from networking opportunities? Then this is the course for you!
This course is aimed at those who are new to fundraising for community organisations and to those with more experience who are looking at developing or reviewing their fundraising strategy.
This course is delivered over 2 sessions (both must be attended) and will develop your knowledge and skills around fundraising and grant writing for a voluntary, community, social enterprise organisation. Focusing on the following key areas:
- Explore how to match funder criteria to your own project
- Describe how to evidence need for your project
- Write in Plain English and incorporate the appropriate tone of voice for your organisation
- Demonstrate your track record and experience in projects
- Create a full cost recovery budget for a project and/or event
- Prepare a fundraising strategy for a VCSE organisation
- Create and communicate a personalised fundraising story
- Discuss some of the legal issues associated with fundraising activities
- Explore some of the challenges faced when organising fundraising events
- Evaluate and select the best social media platforms for an organisation
By the end of the course, we envisage learners will have developed or revised a fundraising strategy for their community organisation with the assistance of Support Staffordshire staff.
