EFS Group Mentoring - Reflective Narrative

For AFHEA, FHEA and SFHEA applicants who have started drafting their applications.

Join Professor Paul Francis (SFHEA, EFS Committee Co-chair), for an interactive workshop focused on developing a strong Reflective Narrative for your EFS application. Bring along your draft application (no need to be complete) to discuss your ideas, exchange experiences with fellow applicants, and gain practical insights to help strengthen your submission.

The Reflective Narrative forms Part 2 – Reflections on Practice of the application. A strong Reflective Narrative should move beyond describing what you do and demonstrate how you think about, evaluate and learn from your educational practice. Your narrative should be based on real examples from your practice and make clear:

• what you did;

• why and how you did it that way; and

• how you know your practice was effective.

The workshop will cover:

• what makes a reflective narrative effective;

• how to move from description to meaningful reflection;

• how to select relevant examples and evidence;

• how to connect your practice to the PSF 2023 Dimensions.
