Event description

EFT/Tapping First Aid Training for Rapid Trauma Relief & Resiliency

(Emotional Freedom Techniques)

Are you a social worker, psychologist, educator or therapist working with complex traumatised clients and need support managing your own and your clients overwhelm?

Please join us for this long awaited customised one day training designed specifically for you and the clients you work alongside. The Foundation team is returning to the Kimberley region for the first time in 5 years!

Our training facilitator, Mitch Gainey is a counsellor, certified EFT practitioner and an EBEFT trainer who has worked extensively with young people, refugees, and others from high trauma backgrounds in Australia, UK, India, South Africa, Mozambique, and Brazil. Mitch has trained extensively in EFT/Tapping and has been mentored by Dr Lori Leyden, world leading trauma healing specialist and Associate Professor Dr Peta Stapleton, internationally recognised EFT researcher and trainer.

Based on our in the field training experience since 2018 we realise that much of your work may revolve around crisis intervention as opposed to your core work with clients. With this in mind, and in an effort to bring our trainings to more people, we developed a special one-day training focused on essential practices you can implement as effectively as possible in the environments you work in.

During this intimate, highly experiential and skills based 1 day Tapping First Aid training you will;

  • Understand how EFT works on a neurophysiological level and re-regulates the brain dis-regulation, brought on by stress and trauma
  • Learn 3 EFT protocols you can implement for yourself and your clients immediately
  • Develop personal competencies in self-regulation
  • Access personal resiliency capacities including increased problem solving, creativity, self-care, compassion, wisdom, productivity and inner safety.
  • Work in small groups as the training is limited in numbers to ensure you experience an in-depth, focussed and practical session.

There is a nominal charge for this training thanks to sponsorship of the Mind Heart Connect Foundation.

COST OF TRAINING: $125 (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided**)

"I can feel the immediate benefits of this technique on my anxiety, professionally and personally." SD - Social Worker
"I have so much more confidence in my psychological practice and am very excited to have EFT in my tool box." LD - Psychologist

"I am now able to easily see 5 or 6 clients a day during periods of heavy demand and crisis in the community.  Previously I did not have the resilience to see traumatised person after traumatised person during the week." BK - Counsellor

PLACES ARE LIMITED - TO CONFIRM YOUR PLACE IN THE TRAINING, PLEASE READ THE FAQ'S TO CHECK YOU ARE ELIGIBLE & COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.

FAQs

Am I eligible for this training?

If you are a health professional, carer or educator in an organisation that works alongside indigenous and refugee communities, you are eligible. (Refer to next question if you have trained previously.)

I have attended previous EFT/Tapping training with another trainer and have experience, is this workshop suitable for me?

No, as much of the training would be a review of your current knowledge and is heavily weighted to practice sessions with a view to support those who commonly work in crisis intervention, rather than typical 1hr client sessions. If however you do work for an organisation or with individuals in the stated communities and are seeking further practice, you may register.

No.

I am a mental health professional working in private practice, is this training for me?

Yes, a limited number of scholarships are available. If you require financial support to attend, please email Kate, the event organiser.
