EFTAG Free Woven Sakiori Coaster Workshop
Description
Join us for a FREE Woven Sakiori Coaster Workshop at our 2nd Annual Eftag Market Day.
What is Sakiori?
Sakiori (裂織) is a traditional Japanese rag weaving technique, emerging in the mid-Edo period (18th century) as a sustainable method for repurposing worn-out clothing. Old cotton or silk textiles are shredded into thin strips and rewoven with sturdy warp threads, creating durable, warm fabric.
Learn from our skilled textile artists how to weave your very own sakiori coaster to take home with you.
Please bring a pair of scissors and a wide tooth combo.
Come along and browse the craft and de-stash market, enjoy some complimentary morning tea, soak up the beautiful water views and enjoy someone hands on textile creativity with EFTAG.
Workshop at 11AM and 1PM.
Sign ups are required as spaces are limited.
