Eggy are excited to bring their second album, With Gusto, to the stage over August and September, playing five shows with five completely unique lineups that showcase the many shades of Eggy. Lavish with opulence and dripping in surrealism, With Gusto is a vivid labyrinth of intricate and intersecting worlds, a pastiche of poignant ideas and concepts held together by a taut but jagged thread. Songs that strike with tenderness, and resonate reward through deeper inspection. Taking melodic cues from avant-pop experimentalists Stereolab, with the rhythmic and left-field stylings of Krautrock renegades Faust, Eggy fuse these together to forge a sound that is at once fascinating and disconcerting. An imaginative odyssey translated to the stage, played in full, as intended. Unmissable!
Supporting in Beechworth will be The Stroppies, who released their second album in May. Playful yet focused, but broader in scope and experimentation than previous efforts, Levity continues the band's exploration of the pop song as both foil for experimentation and conduit for personal reflection. The Stroppies come to town hot off their recent UK tour supporting The Jam legend Paul Weller.
