Event description
A movement and meditation workshop based on the philosophies of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika that takes you through the fudamentals of a seated practice while using movement and breath to prime the body for a contemplative meditative practice. All welcome (all inclusive, non-exclusive)
Having practiced breath awareness meditation for the last decade and wanting to share some of that experience I welcome you to the first workshop of its kind where I will be sharing some of the basics and fundamentals of a contemplative practice in context to the traditional systems of yoga.
Having been born in Kathmandu Valley in Nepal my practice is deeply influenced by the rich cultural and spiritual environment of Nepal and Himalayan Buddhism.
Topics that will be touched upon
1. What meditation is not
2. How to get started with only 5 breaths (breath awareness mediation)
3. How to maintain a practice over the long term
4. My meditation journey over the past decade
5. How meditation fits within the context of classical yoga (Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras) and modern yoga (Hatha Yoga Tradition)
