El Montez brings to the Naarm CBD (Melbourne) the inimitable Aimee Volkofsky from outback New South Wales. Ms Volkofsky crafts country-folk & blues songs about far flung places, digging dirt, short skirts & will showcase bleeding ballads from her forthcoming sophomore album “A Bird Can’t Help But Fly Home”. Ms Volkofsky has had her songs scored by & performed with the Sydney Youth Orchestra. El Montez first carried a guitar along dusty roads, dry creek beds, & under eagle shadows among the granite of Djaara country. They will be performing a stripped back solo show to suit the boutique “listening room” vibe of Bard’s Apothecary. Come prepared for their signature blend of deep, dark, electric, tales from the heart; grunge-folk poetry that takes you from Central Victoria to Central Park, New York.
