Elder Beats: Free Seniors Drumming Circle + Social Tea (Aged 55+) + Releaf Clinic and Dispensary Info Session

Experience the uplifting power of rhythm at our free group djembe drumming session for seniors! This session is a fun and engaging way to boost your energy, enhance wellbeing, and connect with others. Whether you're a first-timer or seasoned musician, everyone can join in and contribute to the rhythm in their own way!

Drumming has been shown to improve mood, reduce stress, and promote physical wellbeing. It’s also a wonderful way to foster social connections.

Guided by Gareth Jones, who spent a decade in South Africa honing his passion for drumming and learning from Zulu elders, performers, and musicians, these sessions are a testament to his dedication. Gareth's journey also took him to Ghana, where he studied with master drummers, further enriching his knowledge and skills. For the past two decades, he has shared his expertise and love for drumming through his professional teaching and performances.

Releaf Clinic and Dispensary Info Session

Following Elder Beats Drumming, join a free 20-minute information session with a registered nurse from Byron's Releaf Clinics and Dispensary. Learn about integrative healthcare, ask questions in a relaxed setting and explore personalised treatment options.

We will provide a range of drums and percussion instruments, but you are also welcome to bring your own. When booking your ticket, please choose one based on your preference:

If you will be bringing your own drum, select the "BYO Drum" ticket.
If you will need to use one of our instruments, select the "Need a Drum" ticket.

You can participate in just the drumming session, just the social tea, or both. If you wish to join for the morning tea as well, please make sure to select the morning tea ticket in addition to your drumming ticket.

This is a FREE EVENT, but prior bookings are necessary to confirm your spot. Donations are welcome. We look forward to having you with us!
