Event description

Join us for our June Electra Business After Five at Te Takeretanga O Kura Hau-Po.

This month’s guest speaker is Tony Alexander.

Tony was Chief Economist at BNZ for almost 25 years and has been out on his own as an independent economist since late-2019.

He distributes his free weekly ‘Tony’s View’ publication to over 25,000 subscribers, writes a weekly column for OneRoof, has a weekly video blog, and speaks at about 80 functions a year around New Zealand. He also runs six monthly surveys which give coalface insight into what is happening in NZ industry and the housing market in particular.

Tony joins us this month to give his thoughts and insights on the recently-announced 2022 Budget and what it could mean for local businesses.  He will also shed some light on some of the more frequently asked questions in the current climate; Is New Zealand headed for recession? If so, would it be like past ones? Will house prices continue to fall further?

Tony’s talks are always highly informative and entertaining and he’s always happy to take questions from the audience, so come prepared!

We look forward to seeing you there!
