Event description

Join ecologist Michael Longmore for a relaxed guided walk through the grassy woodlands of Darebin Creek Forest Park (a.k.a. Electric Spur) and discover local wildflowers — a hidden treasure in the urban landscape.

Learn to identify native orchids, lilies, and more, while exploring their unique ecology. Then stick around afterwards for a cuppa and a chat.

Meet at the reserve entrance opposite Gona Street.

Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather (raincoat, sun safe etc.).

Bring drinking water.

This activity involves over an hour of walking on uneven surfaces. Please see the Accessibility info for more details.

This event is funded by Melbourne Water and the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with the support of DCMC and Banyule City Council.
