    Event description

The Ministry of Awesome invites you to an afternoon of innovation and networking on Tuesday 18 June.

We have created an action-packed agenda to get everyone warmed up for the Electrify Aotearoa Conference.

    #1. Electrify Accelerator Showcase: 1:00-3:30pm

Join us for an electrifying investment showcase featuring up to 8 founders handpicked from this year’s Electrify Accelerator cohort. We have selected arguably the most investible and investment-ready women-led ventures in Aotearoa to pitch directly to you at this showcase.

This is an invite only event whose goal is to give you - our investor and influencer community - a very special first look at the incredible talent coming through the NZ founder pipeline. As you are no doubt aware, investment in women founders is still abysmally low in NZ and worldwide despite evidence that investing in women founders has a higher ROI for investors compared to their male counterparts.

Here’s your opportunity to lead and intelligently innovate through investment in more women founders. You’ll be able to watch the success of your portfolio grow and build your increasingly diverse pipeline with your reputation of being women-founder-friendly.

Finally, your presence at the Electrify Showcase indicates your leadership and will inspire and contribute to the growth and success of our increasingly vibrant startup ecosystem in Aotearoa.

#2. Show Her the Money Film Premiere: 4:00-6:00pm

Following the showcase, we invite you to attend the premiere showing of an award-winning film Show Her The Money. This film addresses how women are getting less than 2% of venture capital funding. Featuring rock-star female investors who invest in diverse women entrepreneurs with innovations that will change the world, Show Her The Money reminds us that money is power and women need it to achieve true equality. Featuring Q&A with award-winning producer and founder of She Angel Investors, Catherine Gray.

    #3. Networking Drinks: 6:00-7.30pm

This is your chance to connect with a diverse ecosystem of startup founders, supporters and investors and take the time to de-brief from an action-packed afternoon.
