Event description

Join us on Wednesday 17th December from 10am for a tour of the Electronic Recycling Australia (ERA) facility with a look behind the scenes at how electronic waste is recycled in South Australia.

The Port Environment Centre Waste Advisory Group is passionate about recycling and public education, we want to empower you to recycle correctly and keep material out of landfill!

This special opportunity will give insights into the value of e-waste and the important work ERA are doing to keep many valuable commodities out of the waste stream. We will also learn about their Bounce Back mattress recycling scheme and textile recycling program.

We will explore all aspects of their work from receiving items, dismantling, refurbishing and even explore making new materials. ERA are always working to find new ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and keep harmful materials out of landfill sites. The tour will end with a short presentation about ERA's work throughout the state.

There is so much to learn and the ERA facility will not fail to impress! An important opportunity to learn about our circular economy and how to be a responsible recycler yourself.

ERA is part of Bedford, Australia's second largest employer of people with disability and leaders in the local circular economy industry.

To tour the facility you are required to wear closed in shoes.
