This event has passed Get tickets

    Event description

Get in touch with your inner artist and experience the four elements of Nature: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. There will be short exercises to prepare by drawing or jotting notes about each element,

then a longer period to focus on creating an artwork which will encompass one or more of the Elements. It may be purely imaginative or based on copying elements from Nature, such as a tree, waterscape, feather or candle with a flame… You might like to create a mandala expressing one or more of the elements. There are also goddess figurines associated with each element, if you wish to pursue that avenue.

Some pictures and objects will be provided, but bring any photos, samples (e.g., seed pods, flowers) or images from Nature which you might wish to copy. Basic art materials will be provided, however, feel free to bring your own if you are more advanced.

    About Sue

Sue is currently “Artist in Residence” at the Gaia Goddess Temple in Moonee Ponds. Sue was initially invited for her musical skills, but in addition, has now started running drawing and painting workshops, often with Margaret de Kam. Since retiring from her work as a Music Therapist, Sue has taken up Watercolour painting and has a keen interest in Botanical Illustration. She studied with several professional artists, and is eager to share her experience with others.

In 2012-13 Sue participated in the inaugural “Goddess Studies” program run by Gaia’s Garden. This inspired several Goddess-themed songs, political parodies and a strong passion for environmental activism. In 2016 Sue launched her new CD: ‘Planet Hot’ on which she was accompanied by several other musicians and singers. Sue Gee is a singer-songwriter with an "edge" who has long amused audiences with her acerbic lyrics on politics, society and women's "herstory".
