ELEVATE: Understanding and Responding to Sexual Harm - Launceston
Event description
This 4-hour professional development workshop is for anyone looking to increase their knowledge and skills when supporting people who have experienced sexual harm. It ensures a cohesive understanding of the issue before exploring strategies to support victim survivors. Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to promote culture change and address drivers of sexual harm, thereby reducing the occurrence and impacts sexual assault to create a safer community.
We’ve refined our popular Sexual Trauma First Aid program to create ELEVATE, incorporating the latest research and best practices for addressing sexual harm in Australia.
By the end of the training, participants will gain an evidence-based, practical, and memorable framework for supporting survivors, which can be applied confidently in any setting or situation. We also offer follow up sessions for individual organisations to offer contexualised application of our ELEVATE training to your team after this training has been undertaken.

- Overview of SASS and referral pathways
- Understanding the prevalence of sexual harm in Australia and the definition of consent
- Responding to disclosures of sexual harm using trauma-informed approaches
- Exploring how our personal values, biases, judgments, and stereotypes can shape the survivor’s experience
