Join Ella Hartwig & her band to celebrate the release of her album’s lead single “OUT OF STONE”.

Written by Ella Hartwig just months after travelling to Brisbane City from her remote upbringing in Cooktown, her lead single “Out of Stone” is the perfect anthem for finding courage, dedication and tenaciousness. The song hit streaming platforms on June 30th!

Ella’s lyrics and imagery are significant to her story and her connection to the land she grew up on. “When writing my lyrics, I pictured the beautiful rivers and creeks like the ones back home in Kuku Yalanji country”.

“My grandmother immigrated to Australia from Latvia in the 1940’s and I really wanted to reflect that part of my ancestry in my work. The ‘river song’ lyrics connect me to my folk roots, and also appreciates the Australian Indigenous ways of oral communication”.

Ella has been internationally recognised for her songwriting and has been acknowledged through two Queensland Music Award nominations for songs off her Debut EP (2019). “Out of Stone” is the first release of what is to be a folk/pop/country fusion album expected in 2024.

The show will open with Brisbane singer/songwriter Mat McCouat and indie/folk songstress Alys North!
