ASE | Cutting it and The Ellie Awards 2024
Event description
2024 marks an exciting year of evolution for our annual awards night known as the Ellies.
We are in a brand new venue; have the brand new Technical Excellence Award; there is an option to win a highly commended certificate in each of the categories; and we will be unveiling a brand new modern trophy that nods to the past. Not to mention we have our largest pool of newly Accredited members since 2006!
However the biggest change is the creation of a companion event called Cutting It. This editing festival takes place on the same day as the Ellie Awards and explores the state of Australian Post Production with panels, presentations, prizes, and a networking event hosted by our new Partner Netflix.
This event came about because we wanted to celebrate that the Ellies brings together our community from across the country. It’s a unique opportunity to facilitate interstate connections and to provide additional value for those members visiting Sydney for the weekend.
We have put together a program that has a diverse array of offerings that will hopefully appeal to a broad audience. There is a two hour gap between Cutting It and the Ellie Awards so it is easy to attend both events.
We are selling tickets individually to either event as well as offering a package. If you attend both you will get an additional 10% discount on top of the 20% discount you already get as an ASE member, or 30% discount as an Ellies judge or Committee Member. Despite recent cost rises, we have worked hard to keep these prices as low as possible.
If you are eligible for a discount you should have received an email with a special code to use at checkout. If you are having issues, please contact Gisela at office@screeneditors.com.au

I'm not nominated for an award, can I still attend The Ellies.
We would love everyone to come and support all of our nominees, accreditees, and life member. This is the biggest post production party of the year and it's a fantastic way to finish off the year.
I don’t know anyone and I am nervous about attending on my own.

The Netflix Networking Breakfast features an icebreaking activity to encourage people to expand their social networks. We have programmed this activity for the start of the day so that you can get to know your peers.
There are two Sydney Social events that are happening before (October 27th and November 24th). These gatherings are free and a great way to meet some of the community beforehand.
