The 21st Century has seen the rise of laws that recognise nature as having its own legal rights. This is a radical shift for western legal systems, that typically treat nature as merely being human property. Laws have now been created in more than a dozen countries, that recognise that nature is not just human property, but a living community

that deserves the right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate vital cycles.

Join us for an update about this fascinating and fast moving area of law, with expert speakers from around the world. We'll provide an introduction to the key concepts about Rights of Nature, as well as updates about how rights of nature laws are being implemented in different cultures, using very different legal tools and approaches.

Our symposium will provide an important update about developments in the creation and implementation, of rights of nature laws and policies, from Ecuador, Colombia, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
