Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) - Wisteria Cinema Cult

Arriving in the small town of Fallwell, Massachusetts to claim her inheritance, horror hostess Elvira receives a less than enthusiastic reception from the conservative locals, including her sinister uncle Vincent.

Elvira Mistress of the Dark is kind of the perfect 80s movie, it has the campiness and cheese and over the top special effects and the millions of boob jokes/shots without the misogyny or general creepiness that comes from so many films from then.

It's also just a really wholesome film about self acceptance inspired by the other gay people in Cassandra Peterson's life as well as her own life that resonates with so many queer people to this day including me :)
