The Emanarse Lab 2023 is an invitation to connect to your genuine creativity and create together. In a one-month immersive process, we will dance to access hidden treasures in our bodies, sing to listen to the silent chords, expand our sight to see the poetry in our routines, improvise to unravel our hidden personas. We will create and have fun together.

The course is a combination between a wide range of Theatre, Improvisation and Movement Research games and techniques, Performance Art and Dance-Theatre experiments, and the experience of each woman involved in the process.

All levels are welcome as each Woman will develop her own process within the collective experience. {Limited spots}

{ DATES AND TIMES }

~ Workshops ~

17th Feb, 24th feb, 3rd Mar and 10th Mar > Fridays, 5.30pm to 8.30pm:

- Understanding the concept of Performance Art, Dance-Theatre, Physical Theatre and Site-Specific

- Theatre and Improvisation games and activities

- Movement research labs

- Voice and sounds lab

- Development of the ‘Rites’: work in progress pieces created by each participant with one on one assistance.

|| Light snacks and tea provided. ||

~ Immersion ~

18th and 19th Feb > Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 6pm:

- Immersive investigation and exploration of the ‘work on ourselves’

- Movement and voice lab

- Creative drifts

~ Individual meetings ~

- Individual creative process development assisted by the facilitator

- Individual rehearsals

|| According to each participant availability and willingness. ||

~ Presentation Day ~

17th March > Friday, 10am to 6pm:

- Going through the set up process to have a full experience of a creative process in Performing Arts

- Offering your Performance to the audience, if you wish

- Participation in collective pieces as part of the Improvisation process

|| We will create together a Performance Arts event with local artists to share our process with our audience/participants. ||

{ FACILITATOR }

Silvia Andrade is a Theatre and Improvisation teacher and director with almost 20 years experience teaching and a vast research in Performance Arts and Movement Research. Post Graduated in Performance Arts and Graduated in Theatre at the National University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, she has studied Theatre, Dance, Dance-Theatre, Performance Art and the universe of the Clown with teachers and masters from several countries, developing a wide experience with the most variety types of Performing Arts and techniques. Passionate about the potency of Theatre as a social equality and diversity mechanism, she created Emanarse to develop, collectively, creative process to unravel and universalise individual processes through the body and movement.
