Event description

*LAST EMANARSE LAB IN AUSTRALIA: 17th to 19th May
>> After a seven years cycle in Australia, it’s time say good bye.

The 'Emanarse Lab - Immersions' are a powerful convergence of women actively composing and amplifying the work on themselves through Performative Arts and Ritual.

The space of immersion is a dance within the fluid boundaries of groundedness, contraction, expansion, and malleability. It is an exploration of our personal terrain, a journey to access memories, stories, and traumas, forging ancestral connections.In this immersion, we will follow the rhythmic cadence of our creative drifts, taking risks, each guided by our unique compasses. Drifting bodies, surrendering to internal currents that lead us through internal rivers, intertwining on their own path to the vast ocean of interconnected journeys, possibilities, and transformations.

We will delve deep, birthing individual and collective access to ritualistic and aesthetic material that emerges from the core of who we are.We will work to empty the body from social conditioning, and free spaces to become, from and through the body.

The work is a traverse through the Body, exploring the universes of Performative Theatre, Butoh Dance, Dance-Theatre and Performance Art, crafted through years developing labs with Women.

In the 'Emanarse Lab: Performance Art and Ritual Among Women Immersion', the ritual and its place in the Performance Art will be the main focus of the investigation, leading to a construction of a collective Rite of Passage at the end of the weekend, which can also be seen as new beginnings.

{ POST IMMERSION MENTORSHIP SESSION }
After the immersion, an online one-on-one session with Silvia Andrade is available, to explore reverberations of the ongoing work, born on the weekend. It is an opportunity to seamlessly integrate the creative flow into the fabric of our daily lives, shaping a continuous journey of exploration and transformation.

{ FACILITATOR }
Silvia is a performance artist, Performative Arts teacher, and artistic director, postgraduate in Performance Art and Movement. Born into a family of Physical Educators, her early curiosity about the body's potency and possibilities sparked a deep dive into experimental research.

In 2003, Silvia embarked on a journey immersing her body in studies of Performance Art, Butoh Dance, Dance-Theatre, Postdramatic Theatre forms, and clowning. Learning from teachers across various countries and cultures, she embraced the ritualistic, somatic and spiritual forces of her experiences.From 2007 onwards, Silvia's focus shifted towards her womanhood and the challenges posed by patriarchal structures, leading her to advocate for equality and communal well-being.

For over 15 years, she combined her social-artistic researches and trainings with Arts, culture and events management career.After the passing of her mother, she embarked on a journey to Asia, delving into body therapies and ancestral connections.

Subsequently, in Australia, she furthered her studies in Massage Therapy and Yoga teaching, while rediscovering the arts of the body with compassion and detachment from academic constraints.

Fueled by her passion for the decolonizing potency of Performative Arts, Silvia founded Emanarse, a project aimed at unraveling individual journeys through body and movement. Through Emanarse Labs, her Performance Art evolved into collaborative, healing work with other women, collectively exploring the process of becoming.

Silvia sees this endeavor as a collective journey, brimming with possibilities yet to be uncovered.
