Event description
Embedding Aboriginal Perspectives in Out of School Hours Care (OOSHC)
Presented by Koori Curriculum
Join us for an engaging and practical workshop designed specifically for Out of School Hours Care (OOSHC) educators. Discover meaningful and respectful ways to embed Aboriginal culture into your program and practice.
This session will explore how to create inclusive environments that celebrate Aboriginal culture and provide all children with the opportunity to see themselves reflected in the curriculum. We’ll introduce the 8 Ways of Learning pedagogical framework and share strategies for incorporating it into your planning and programming.
Together, we’ll dive into hands-on ideas and inspiration through music, dance, art, gross motor play, nature play, and sustainable practices. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or looking to deepen your understanding, this workshop will equip you with the tools and confidence to respectfully embed Aboriginal perspectives into your OOSHC setting.
