Embodied Relationality - Workshop
Event description
“The highest form of love is the love that allows for intimacy without the annihilation of difference.” - Parker Palmer
It can be easy - in a culture characterised by mechanistic and individualistic ideals - to live as a Separate Self in a world of Other. You may resonate with a sense of ‘wow, this is lonely,’ or ‘hmm, is this really it?’
How might we, though, open ourselves to the Self as Context? How might we open the axis of our body-minds to live in conversation and embodied-relationship with all things we might consider not-Self? Foundationally, how might we remember our true belonging, in an ecology of life and reclaim our inherent wholeness?
Through a series of embodied, relational and contemplative practices, we explore what it means to live in relationship to the paradox of being-human. We explore the gifts and limitations of being a You, of being an Us, and develop the awareness, insight and tools to navigate the spaces between with more grace and grit.
What to expect:
- Contemplative and Mindfulness-based practices
- Mindful movement practices
- Self and Community-Reflection
- Dyad and Group Dialogue
- Circling
What you might walk away with:
- Increased awareness and insight around your conditioned tendency in relationship to
- Intra- and inter-personal tools for navigating the ‘contact-boundary’ between self, and world/other/non-self
- Embodied sense of being in relationship to wholeness; with your ‘self’ and ‘non-self’
- Greater ability to hold space with another, without losing yourself
All expressions, all peoples welcome.
Diversity is a gift to this work of reweaving wholeness in self and society.
We’d love to share this one with you.
If the fee to join is a barrier for you, please message us as we’d love for anyone who feels the call, to be able to join us.
We acknowledge that this workshop is located on unceded Wurundjeri land, and pay our deep respect to their elders past, present and emerging. We hold reverence for the dignity and artistry of the indigenous to this land practice in stewarding both culture and country, and hope this work may be in support of reweaving our way into relationship.
