Embodiment | Carclew House & Grounds – SALA Exhibition
Event description
Join us for the opening of Embodiment on Thursday 4 August.
Curator-In-Residence, Asha Southcombe presents Carclew’s SALA 2022 Exhibition: Embodiment.
This year the Sharehouse artists in residence have been working in mediums of painting, sound, film, music, sculpture, and mixed media to present an enhanced experience for SALA audiences. Embodiment embodies very personal feelings from these young emerging artists who have transformed them into a multidimensional exhibition reflecting on their own personal identity, encounters, experiences and artistic practice.
Embodiment represents an immersive, multi-sensory experience dispersed across the Carclew grounds. Through engagement with art installations and performace, this exhibition brings attention to your own presence in the space and is influenced by your interactions with the work. It encourages you to become more aware of how we each individually experience and interpret the world in different ways.
The exhibition presents works by Sharehouse residents Keira Simmons, Sam Lau, Wolfie Genesis, Hannah Coleman, Thea Martin and Chloe Noble.
Carclew acknowledges Embodiment takes place on Kaurna Country, and we pay respect to Kaurna elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
