EMBODY LEADERSHIP RETREAT

Join us for an unforgettable leadership experience at the Embody Leadership Retreat! This in-person event will take place from Thu Oct 12 2023 to Sat Oct 14 2023 at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat (3582 Lamington National Park Road, Canungra, QLD 4275).

Get ready to immerse yourself in a transformative experience that will help you cultivate your trauma safe leadership skills and empower you to reach your full potential as a Mental Health Leader.

Throughout the retreat, you'll participate in a variety of expressive arts and somatic activities designed to help you embody your leadership values & ethics.

We'll equip you with skills to rekindle your passion for leadership, build resilience and foster a trauma-informed work environment.

With a focus on personalized growth and experiential learning, you'll gain the knowledge and the tools to create a supportive team culture that prevents burnout and manages vicarious trauma.

The Embody Leadership Retreat is designed and delivered by professionals with hands-on experience. We provide not just theoretical knowledge, but tangible frameworks and evidence-based practices that you can immediately implement in your work and your life.

This is the retreat for you to rediscover your motivation to be a helping professional and embody practices that empower you to lead your team in a safe and sustainable way.

You'll also have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share the struggles of leadership that you experience. The retreat will help you build meaningful relationships that will last long after the event is over.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to take your leadership skills to the next level and enable you to fulfill the updated WorkSafe Legislation in a trauma- informed way!

THE EXPERIENCE

  • Arrive on Thursday, 12th October, 2023 at O'Reilly's in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Settle in from 4:30-5:30pm and meet facilitators and participants.
  • Attend workshops from the Thursday evening, exploring leadership principles and somatic awareness, developing embodied confidence, and delving into your values that underpin your practice and staff supervision.
  • Friday wake up in the glorious rainforest and breathe in the fresh air before attending the workshops enhancing your leadership skills.
  • Most leaders acknowledge creating a supportive team culture needs a vision and planning. You will have time to learn, discuss and put this planning into your framework.
  • Hard conversations are an important part of leadership, supervision, managing, improving practice standards, change, safety and risk assessment which is part of your responsibility. You will get the opportunity to explore the best ways to acknowledge difficult conversations and be able to listen to staff and have them listen to you.
  • Learning the impact of being a mental health professional from a somatic perspective will help you be an embodied leader. Lots of the work has a disembodying impact and you will learn the theory and practice of how to act and think differently to support your leadership and help staff reduce the risk of vicarious trauma. It's a 'not if but when' scenario for most practitioners unfortunately.
  • Worksafe Legislation has recently been updated to acknowledge and protect workers from psychosocial hazards. This will be explored and you will get the opportunity to reflect on current hazards in your workplace and create a plan to improve the work environment, adherence to the legislation and be prepared to go back to work and have hard conversations with upper management if required.
  • On Saturday participants will continue to creatively design their own pathway to embodied leadership focusing on values, strengths and safety for you, the team, and clients, based on trauma informed practice and leadership research.
  • O'Reilly's has been selected to enable maximum exposure to a natural environment that will help reset your nervous system and help regulate emotions, mind and body. (Spa also accessible). Delicious food, breathtaking walks, homelike atmosphere and natural sounds permeate the environment.
