This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

We welcome wymyn to an event of honouring community and celebration of self and the wholeness of life. We will create a Sacred Safe Space as we breathe and move together. As we come together we experience being part of something more, something bigger than us.

In this workshop we will use movement and dance to embody Goddess in the aspect of Hera.

This dance, built of simple steps and gestures allows the individual and group to honour the past while empowering self in the now. Hera is the Great Mother, Triple Moon Goddess ruling the phases of the Moon, the seasons of the year and the stages of our lives. She is Maiden, Mature Woman and Crone. Hera rules Life and Death, the Milky Way, is Heras’ milk. Her name means simply “The Lady”.

Facilitators: Beverly Wyburn and Pauline Galvin

Bev and Pauline have convened ‘Womynspirit Dance’ for at least 30 years, using song and dance to embody the Goddess and create a safe and sacred space. The music and movement awaken energy within each participant’s body, aligning them with the group and the rhythm of the earth.

Bev Wyburn - The words on the temple door read, “Know Thyself” and to this end Bev has searched and studied. Her guides and teachers include, Robin LaTrobe, Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, Thea Gaia, Anique Radiant Heart, plus others. She is a ‘Priestess of the Mysteries’ and a reiki master. As a priestess she acknowledges her place in the universe as a creature of planet earth and is grateful for her life and connection to community.

Pauline Galvin has been on a spiritual path for more than 30 years. She has a background in science and is excited to experience the emerging confluence of ancient wisdom with recent scientific insights. Pauline is involved in community pagan events, both women only (where she first encountered Sacred Dance) and more recently with Reclaiming WitchCamps. She is a yoga teacher, developing both mindfulness of the body and breath and a sensitivity to the emotional and energetic felt responses that occur in response to yoga postures. She deeply values the experience of the Sacred that embodied movement such as yoga and dance gives.
