Embrace. Enact. Embed is a place for likeminded early childhood professionals to flourish. Based on three simple principles, the conference provides educators with an opportunity to engage and be challenged in their thinking.

With sessions that focus on practical solutions to increase knowledge and effectiveness across a range of topics, our presenters will illustrate the importance of nurturing and shaping individual purpose, creativity, and professional excellence.

Our carefully crafted program along with our dedicated timing have been chosen to maximise participation for all Western Australian services and individuals, including our rural and remote friends. Presenters will provide solutions for Long Day Care, Family Day Care, OSHC and school based settings with a focus on 0-8 year olds.

Embrace is about the idea that in accepting the dynamic nature of our profession we accept our educational practice must be malleable in ways beyond the National Quality Standard. When we succumb to this idea we can grow and change theory around topics that don’t always have easy answers such as anti-bias, climate change and Aboriginal perspectives. Embrace is about educators becoming emotionally involved in theory of practice and social responsibility.

Enact encompasses embracing the changes and follows with the steps needed to embed them. This is the stage where we bridge the gap between ideas and action. This is where the learning takes place, making individuals feel empowered to move forward.

Embed is the final stage. This is where we “do” for the long term. It is the chance to use new knowledge and skills to push past the failed attempts and the tokenistic short-term activities. This is where practicality is king and the game is long.
