A Winter Solstice Mindfulness Experience
Event description
Sink into this embodied experience for a virtual nature-based mindfulness experience marking the Winter Solstice. As the longest night of the year begins, we’ll draw upon nature-based mindfulness practices to explore the darkness and light in our own lives - and as part of the larger human and beyond-human community.
Join from indoors or from outside - wherever feels right to you. If you join from indoors, consider positioning yourself near a window, houseplants, or other natural elements. If you join from outside, using one earbud to tune in works best, so you can be aware of your surroundings. You might light a candle or fire pit if it's safe to do so where you are.
Together in this virtual space, we will:
- Learn about the winter solstice and its significance
- Explore present-moment awareness with nature
- Be guided through a meditation using the qualities of light and dark
- Align with the sun’s natural cycles and mindfully let go of what’s past
- Welcome winter and set an intention for this quiet season and growing light
- Connect with others on the longest night of the year
Grab a cup of tea and settle in for a cozy, mindful experience rooted in the gifts of winter!
