EMDR Therapy Protocols for Early Intervention & Ongoing Traumatic Stress
Event description
Discover this innovative, symptom-trajectory-based stepped-care approach, designed by Dr. Ignacio (Nacho) Jarero to effectively address recent, current, and past adverse experiences. Facilitated by Scaling Up trainer Sadie Smith all the way from the USA, this suite of safe, evidence-based protocols and treatment interventions is tailored for mental health professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care.Â
With this transformative, symptom-trajectory-based stepped-care approach to treatment, you will be equipped to provide in-person interventions across a range of needs, including early treatment (critical care and rapid response), complex clinical presentations (such as prolonged adverse experiences and ongoing traumatic stress), and group interventions (for both small groups of 2 and larger groups of over 100).
Training Overview: Expand Your Clinical Horizons
Many individuals experiencing recent traumatic events suffer from acute traumatic distress. While some will recover spontaneously, others may develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood disorders, or other psychological and physical conditions with associated functional impairments.
Research suggests that early intervention to reduce or eliminate acute distress may prevent the development of subsequent disorders. Successful trauma treatment can lead to substantial economic, social, and cultural benefits for individuals, families, and communities (White Paper, EMDR Early Intervention and Crisis Response Summit Conference, Boston, MA, April 20-22, 2018).
This training, designed for EMDR-trained therapists, will expand your clinical horizons as you learn this highly effective and safe suite of treatment interventions. Clinicians will learn four transformative protocols and procedures
   Day 1
- Acute Stress Syndrome Stabilisation (ASSYST) Procedure for Individuals
- Acute Stress Syndrome Stabilisation (ASSYST) Procedure in a Group Setting
Day 2
- EMDR Integrative Group Treatment Protocol for Ongoing Traumatic Stress (EMDR-IGTP-OTS)Â Â
- EMDR Protocol for Recent Critical Incidents and Ongoing Trauma Stress (EMDR-PRECI)
These protocols and procedures can be provided in-person or remotely online. They have the most research support in the EMDR Early Intervention and Ongoing Traumatic Stress field, with nearly 80 high-quality, peer-reviewed published papers.
