Description
EMERGENT 2026 is a new games conference held in Melbourne, Australia, run by emerging game developers, for ALL, in the Australian Games Industry to find, connect and learn from one another!
EMERGENT believes that career experience don't represent a game developer's value in any networking setting. Everyone has experiences to learn from, and it should be uplifted and celebrated!
Instead of constantly aspiring to be like another accomplished game developer, EMERGENT believes that everyone are our own 'seasoned' game developers -- that we should be confident in our experiences and skills, what we've learnt because there will always be someone else that can learn from you!

At EMERGENT 2026, you can expect 6 talks/panels and 4 roundtables sessions run by fellow emerging game developers, for all! Light catering will be included at our Networking Zone if you're looking to just chat or even run some informal playtesting!
This event was created for the dream of bringing emerging game developers together, and with future plans to bring income and upskilling opportunities to game developers. All of our guest speakers, though volunteers, and event volunteers will be given an honorarium for their time and efforts.

- Is your event accessible?
Yes! There is an accessibility ramp at the entrance, and a unisex accessible bathroom inside. You may view the 3D view of the venue here!

We understand that games events you may often go to lie in the $5-$15 ranges. Against other game conferences and convention prices in $50-$200 ranges, we tried to price our event as affordable as possible, while able to offer honorariums for all of our volunteers. All profits will go towards running the event this year and beyond. (Yes we will definitely run it again next year!)
