Emergent Song: A Queer Harmony Workshop
Event description
Emergent Song: A Queer Harmony Workshop
Collective sound-making rooted in body, breath, and liberation.
What if singing together could be a rehearsal for the world we’re dreaming of?
In this 90-minute workshop, we’ll be tuning into the songs already pulsing in us and around us. Through improvised vocal play as well as call and response-style songs, we’ll build layers of rhythms and harmonies that support a deepening of interdependence and interconnection.
No need to "know what you're doing." Just your voice, your willingness to listen, and the wisdom of the group.
We'll practice:
Trusting the body as a tuning fork
Listening for what wants to emerge (not what we can control)
Singing into the messy beauty of co-creation
Queerness is centered. Perfection is not.
Come sing your longings, your grief, your joy, your weird.
