I am pleased to share the stage with Nigel Jones and present a program that moves through vivid contrasts of style, colour and character. From the elegance and clarity of Fernando Sor to the unmistakable voice of Heitor Villa-Lobos, we travel through the lyrical world of Egberto Gismonti and the rhythmic energy of Astor Piazzolla. Contemporary works by Andrew York, Leonard Grigoryan and Shaun Rigney add to the diversity, with pieces that shift between quiet moments of intimacy and dynamic bursts of energy. Through this music, we invite you into a world where dance, storytelling and imagination meet, with each work revealing a different shade of the guitar's voice.

Matthew Zengoski is a talented young guitarist who demonstrates strong musical instincts, technical focus, and interpretive maturity well beyond his years. Following the tremendous feedback from his debut concert last year and the valuable experience he gained, he was invited to return for a second concert series.

Nigel Jones is a well-respected guitarist, educator, composer and chamber musician from the Wollongong area. He has helped shape the careers of many young performers through teaching while remaining active as a recitalist and collaborator.
