Be inspired and learn the necessary skills on how to create an arts portfolio as a multi hyphenate creative. Facilitator Sarah Carroll will take you through an immersive workshop and you will leave with practical skills to take into your own practice and showcase your arts practice with the world!

Topics we will cover include:

  • How to write an artist bio
  • The basics of creating a website
  • Using social media to showcase your work
  • How to build your artist networks and collect material of your practice
  • Finding your unique brand

The workshop will be held at Outloud headquarters, the Bankstown Arts Centre, Darug land from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Dinner will be provided (Vegan and Halal options).

We offer workshops for free to make sure everyone can take part, if you feel like you will get value out of this and can afford to, please consider making a tax-deductible donation.

Outloud's Emerging Artist Workshops are made possible with the generous support of the Waratah Education Public Ancillary Fund, the Scanlon Foundation, and the City of Canterbury Bankstown.

About the Facilitator Amy Wong (Tofupants)

Amy Wong (Tofupants) is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and community facilitator based in Western Sydney, working across illustration, painting, and sculpture. Through character and storytelling, she celebrates children, local communities and the environment within imaginative and natural landscapes. Wong's passions are mirrored in her pursuit of a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) / Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales, majoring in Ecology, Drawing & Painting, with an interest in public and participatory art. She is an active community facilitator of public programs and workshops, including the Art on the Table: Culinary Connection Collage series with the Fusion Culture Group (2024).
Wong has been invited to exhibit in several group shows, including Mixed Business 3 at Pari (2022), Neon Playground in Chinatown (2022), Mixed Business 4 at Pari (2023), Dragon on Dixon in Chinatown (2024), Market City in Haymarket (2024) and Stories from Here: An Audio Tour Project with Outloud at Bankstown (2024). She has collaborated with the City of Sydney and Outloud on numerous occasions.
Wong was a volunteer in Outloud's Western Sydney Youth Advisory Group (2024), a group of eight young people providing feedback on youth arts programs and events. She was also the primary illustrator for Outloud’s UNITY Project (2022), creating a series of educational resources to teach primary school girls about healthy relationships, consent, and positive body image.
