Emerging Choreographers Project 2025
Event description
QL2 Dance presents our final program for 2025: The Emerging Choreographers Project.
Six QL2 dance artists are presenting new, short works in this exciting program: Akira Byrne, Chloe Curtis, Jahna Lugnan, Lucia Morabito, Gigi Rohrlach and Maya Wille-Bellchambers. They are joined by 11 talented QL2 dance artists as their performer/collaborators.
A rainbow opera explodes into a living sculpture garden. Tensions triggered reveal the mystery and majesty of metamorphosis. A mirage of nostalgia dissolves into a slippery carcass, cracking its way out of a fragile shell. This year’s program is sure to surprise, challenge, and delight.
The annual Emerging Choreographers Project (ECP) is QL2 Dance’s most unique project. Mentored by professional artists Alice Lee Holland and Emma Batchelor, young QL2 dance artists create their own original short dance works for a public season in the QL2 Dance theatre at Gorman Arts Centre.
For young artists, the ECP offers an invaluable experience to explore their curiosity and develop their unique artistry as emerging dance makers.
For audiences, this 60-minute performance program offers an opportunity to engage with innovative works created by curious, creative and talented young Kamberri artists. Stay on for a facilitated Q&A session with the choreographers and cast.
