It’s all happening at Melbourne Connect – Victoria’s first purpose-built innovation precinct!
This pitch night is dedicated to emerging tech. If you have a startup or even just an emerging tech idea that you want to pitch for validation or a co-founder, apply via the link below! As the theme is emerging tech, we are on the hunt for ideas and startups that are working in verticals including blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, fintech or regtech, healthtech, agtech, cyber security, robotic process automation (RPA), edge computing, IoT, and virtual reality and augmented reality.

ROUND 1 – 90 SECONDS
If you’re selected to pitch on the night, you will have 90 seconds in the first round to make an impact. We won’t be using pitch decks or slides for this round, it will just be you and a mic. Following your pitch, our judging panel will ask questions and provide feedback.
ROUND 2 – 4 MINUTES
Based on voting from our judging panel, three pitches will progress to the second round, where they will have four minutes to pitch again, this time using a pitch deck or slides. This round, again, will be followed by questions from the expert judging panel.
WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Our judging panel will deliberate and announce the winners. There is over $5,000 in prizes to be won plus mentoring from AirTree – a venture capital firm that invests tech entrepreneurs in Australia and New Zealand.

HOST
Jason Lim is the Chief of Staff at YBF Ventures and the host of five-star-rated podcast, People Building Businesses. Over the last nine years with YBF Ventures, he has been an investor and advisor to startups, and is an Entrepreneurial Fellow at the University of Melbourne as an alumnus of the Melbourne Accelerator Program. Jason is a regular guest speaker at high-profile startup events including Startup Grind, Girls in Tech and the Lift Off Awards. He is an expert on funding, venture capital and how to scale a business.
