Emily Lubitz Solo
Event description
We are proud to host singer songwriter Emily Lubitz in a very special and intimate house concert at Shara Music Temple.
Accompanied by top shelf musicians Rod Coe on double bass and Diego Zaragoza on guitar, Emily will perform her thoughtful and beautifully crafted songs in this intimate house concert.
Very few artists can cradle your heart in their hands whilst they kick your ass. But, the six-foot tall frontwoman with the gossamer voice does just that. As quoted by The Age, “Emily’s exquisite, brushed-velvet vocal conjures a steady neck-hair raising waltz”. With a timeless, aching quality that only great voices have, Lubitz is every singer’s favourite singer; a captivating live performer who has won the hearts of audiences around the world. More priestess than popstar, Lubitz has created her own iconography that sears itself into the listener’s imagination. Described as “Strikingly assured” by Rolling Stone Australia, Lubitz prowls the stage with the gravitas of a giant Edith Piaf stalking through a post-apocalyptic Laurel Canyon.
Emily's Melbourne based band , Tin Pan Orange has toured with Martha Wainwright, The Cat Empire, Jen Cloher and The Waifs, they have toured North America and Europe, won Triple J Unearthed 2013 and Emily’s voice was heard by 120 million people for having sung the train safety viral sensation ‘Dumb Ways To Die’.
