Emily-Rose The Art of Songwriting Workshop
Event description
The Art of Songwriting
Join songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Emily-Rose Sharkova in a light-hearted, deep delving workshop, exploring the art of songwriting.
Emily-Rose is on a solo tour celebrating the release of her album ‘Upon These Open Skins’ on limited edition double vinyl.
Together with workshop participants she will be sharing ideas and exploring what it is to write, rewrite, question, experiment and ultimately share songs. What is the role of song in our society? What do words tell us, and how does melody, harmony and rhythm work together to make the listener feel the song is perhaps about them?
Bring yourselves, questions, ideas, songs, instruments, pens and notebooks.
Emily-Rose has had a far reaching and varied experience in music, from classical piano to jazz, specialist in Argentine tango and explorer of Balkan folk. Through all her musical life, writing songs has been one of her most authentic expressions as a musician, and it brings her great joy to share this with others.
All participants are invited to stay for Emily's concert at 6pm.
