About the Book

Thyme to Cook is a practical guide to growing, harvesting and cooking real food at home from bestselling writer, Emma Galloway.

In her friendly and fuss-free style, Emma guides you through starting a garden, whether in the ground or in containers if space is short. She outlines the different stages of growing from seed, how to make simple and cost-effective soil amendments at home, the ins and outs of saving seeds and how to turn your food and garden waste into compost to add nutrients back into your soil. The in-depth growing guides give you all you need to know to grow over 25 different vegetables. With gardening comes bountiful homegrown produce, so you’ll also find more than 70 nourishing recipes to cook throughout the year. All recipes are vegetarian, flavour-packed and gluten-free.

Not too many generations back, every family had a small garden in the yard, and knew how to live with the seasons. Sadly, the disconnect from how and where our food is grown means that many have lost the gardening knowledge that past generations took as a given. Emma celebrates today’s gardening resurgence: bringing with it the opportunity to reconnect with our food, have control over what goes into our bodies, limit our exposure to harmful chemicals, and foster self-reliance. The empowerment and joy of homegrown living radiate from the book’s pages.

Thyme to Cook is a practical guide to growing, harvesting and cooking real food at home to nourish our bodies and minds! From successful cookery writer Emma Galloway.
