Event description

Emma Knights presents: Turning the Page

Thursday 8 August 11am

Words… Emma knights loves to read them, and loves writing them. The right mix of words can completely transport us. Turning the Page, a new original music show written and performed by Emma Knights, is a collection of songs inspired by words from books that have resonated with her. Some songs include a single line, while others are solely words by the author. The songs explore topics of climate change, social justice, mental health and how maybe if we turn the page, we might just be able to start a new chapter. Nominated for Best Music in Melbourne Fringe 2023, this show features 13 incredible original songs based on books!

Turning the Page includes songs “We Are All Fools in Love” (created using only quotes from Pride & Prejudice), “It is always too soon” (based on a line from Lord of the Rings: Two Towers) and “Tiny Emergencies” (inspired by a chapter in Delia Falconer’s Signs & Wonders).
