Where: Wagga Wagga National Art Glass Gallery

Please join us for an afternoon celebration of glass at the National Art Glass Gallery, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery. Artist Emma Varga will be in discussion with Grace Cochrane AM, followed by the launch of Shattering the Glass Ceiling, Women artists in the National Art Glass Collection.

Emma Varga will speak about her 50 year career in glass making, culminating in her recent exhibition Fire-Water-Life.

Now an independent curator, writer and consultant, from 1988-2005 Grace Cochrane AM was the curator, later senior curator, of Australian decorative arts and design at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. Author of The Crafts Movement in Australia: A History (NSW University Press, 1992). For 40 years she has talked about the crafts and design in lectures and at conferences in Australia and overseas, has written for a range of journals and publications, and examined submissions from many PhD and Master’s candidates.
