    Event description

    This course supports you to understand the road rules so you can gain your learner's permit (L plates) and increase your employment options. 

    This program helps you understand the link between employment and a licence, supports you to understand the road rules to a level where you can successfully pass the learner's test, includes a session on road safety, and a practical session on basic car checks all drivers should know how to do.

    To access this course for free you must be a South Australian resident (or hold a valid work or study visa), aged 16 years or older and preparing for work or study, and not enrolled in school or a Flexible Learning Options program

    The 7 sessions will be held on 30 Mar, 6 Apr, 13 Apr, 20 Apr, 27 Apr, 4 May, & 11 May
    Each Thursday class will run from 1:00pm to 4:30pm

    The course includes:  

    • Understanding of key SA road rules 
    • Registration with the My Ls platform (saving you $38!)
    • Understanding how a driver's licence links to employment 
    • The role and cost of RAA Roadside assistance 
    • Minimising the risk of an accident and general road safety
    • Practical basic car maintenance (tyres, fluids, service intervals, and pre-drive inspections)

    Once you successfully pass your learners test, you will also have your L's Permit paid for to help get you on your way to getting your P's! (Saving you $69!!)

    Our Community Learning mentors and trainers are there to support you every step of the way. Even once the course has finished our mentors will continue to help you, making you feel confident and empowered, and ready to take the next steps in your learning journey or path to employment.

    You will be required to complete a basic assessment of your reading and numeracy skills before you start. This will help the team identify any supports you may need and ensure that this is the right course for you.
