Emospacebird

Grupo Sumak de Philadelphia

Grupo Sumak de Philadelphia is a tropical psychedelic band made up of six musicians from six different Latin American countries, bringing together six migration stories that intersect in Philadelphia, where the project was formed.
The band met in Philadelphia — a city shaped by hard work, underground culture, and immigrant communities. That environment is deeply present in the music: African rhythms, Latin American melodies, and psychedelic textures infused with the raw, unpolished grit that defines Philly. Songs are performed in Spanish, in a natural, direct way to tell stories and connect with audiences in their own language.
