Emotional Regulation & Co-Regulation Workshop
Description
Learn practical strategies to manage big emotions and reduce overwhelm. This workshop helps build stronger communication and healthier relationships. It is especially valuable for parents/carers who are learning to navigate their own emotions while supporting the emotional needs of others.
This workshop focuses on the mechanics of Emotional Regulation and Co-Regulation, providing actionable tools to de-escalate overwhelm and foster healthier communication and attachments. It is specifically designed for those on the front lines of care, such as parents, carers, nurses, teachers and support workers. Whether you are a professional or an individual carer, you’ll learn to manage your own emotional capacity while effectively meeting the complex needs of vulnerable community members.
This workshop duration runs every Thursday over 4 consecutive weeks - from 6pm-8pm. You will learn a new component every week!

Understanding the Importance of emotions including the benefits of emotional intelligence and why some people find it hard to express emotions. Learn to recognise how emotions show up in the body in self and others.

Week 2 - Distress Tolerance & Keeping Calm in Chaos! -Thursday 5th Nov
Understanding distress tolerance including unpacking the window of tolerance and the importance of managing your own emotions first.

Week 3 - The Value of Vulnerability & Validation - Thursday 12th Nov
Understanding the model of emotion coaching and the value of vulnerability and the need for validation in the human experience.

Week 4 - How to be a Co-Regulator! - 19th Nov
Unpack the the most important element of co -regulation, including problem solving. Learn the processes of co-regulation including simple calming and regulating techniques and ultimately finish up a pro co-regulator!
