Event description
If you have a big heart and want to make a difference in people’s lives, a career in Home Care supporting seniors to live independently might be right for you. Together, with our partners at SydWest will help you to jump the job queue and have the chance to land a role on the spot at their series of Employment Accelerator events for 2024. If you are jobseekers who live nearby the Blacktown area and interested to start a career in care industry, this will be the perfect event for you to engage directly with potential employers.
This event may be for you if you already have a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support – Ageing or you’re just starting out and want to find out more about possible positions, on-the-job training and qualifications (some fee-free).
You can meet local employers in person, cutting through the usual application process. If you don’t find a job on the day, you can share your details for future openings.
Who is this for?
- Compassionate people who find it rewarding to contribute to the lives of others
- Residents of Greater Western Sydney, especially if you speak a second language
- Anyone who has qualifications in Individual Support – Ageing or similar (though not essential)
What do you need for a job in Home Care?
- Driver’s license and access to a fully registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle
- Personal smart phone & internet access
- Minimum 3 day per week availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts between Monday and Friday
- Current Australian National Police check
- Current Working with Children check
- Current First Aid Certificate
What to bring on the day?
- A copy of your CV/resume
- Your driver’s licence, registration and insurance
- Any certificates relating to relevant qualifications
- Police and Working with Children Check. If you don’t have these, we can help you apply.
